World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day Commemoration Programme
Universal Access and Human Rights

As you all know, we observe 1 December as World AIDS Day and reiterate our commitment to unite in the response to HIV. The theme for World AIDS Day 2009 is Universal Access and Human Rights, which is critical to protect human rights and attain access for all to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.

As done in the previous years, Madhyama Prasaran and Scientific Research Foundation is facilitating a series of events through the next two weeks. This year’s focus is to make vulnerable populations like children, MSM, transgenders and IDU’s aware of their rights and create a health seeking behaviour. This will include various activities like public rally, workshops, street plays, public lectures, etc. This will engage both the general public as well as members from specific communities.

We will keep you posted about the various events. We look forward to welcoming you in large numbers in making this programme a grand success.

Let us all unite and demonstrate a strengthened response to the HIV epidemic.
