On the occasion of Republic Day Madhyama Prasaran and Scientific Research Foundation will present a theatre performance addressing issues of HIV/AIDS in children. This performance is an outcome of a series of participatory workshops involving students of Sarkari Samyukta High School - coxtown. The play was performed earlier at the International Public Engagement conference held earlier in Bangalore and on World AIDS Day. This will be followed by distribution of various prizes and certificates of appreciation. There will also be a presentation on modes of spread of HIV and its prevention.
On 23rd January 2010, 'Bal Utsav and Scientific Research Foundation' will also present 'BAL Mela' – A Painting and essay writing competition for school children from diverse backgrounds. Children from Sarkari Samyukta High School - Cox town, Army Public School, Bangalore, Mountain view institution, Chikmagalur and Guild Of Service Home For Handicapped Children a school for speech and hearing- impaired - Chennai, will put pen to paper about what Freedom means to them. The event will be held for children from the middle school (Classes 5-7) and high school (Classes 8-10) and the results will be announced on the 26th of January 2010 when the winner of the event would get an opportunity to be heard on Radio.
